when searching for the part, can the inventory_mstr2.descriptiion_2 field be added to show the extra details stored as we are limited in characters for the part description field.

Katrina - I think the request is that the extra description would be searchable, not just visible after selecting a part.

expanding the description does show the information we are looking for in the alternate description 1 field but this is after it has been selected. We have many parts starting with the same characters and the part that differentiates them is stored in this field, hence the need to see it in the inventory selection form when using this function.
