Search pop-out disappears if you click anywhere else

In SUPPLY AND DEMAND, if I use the search function the pop-out disappears if I click anywhere outside the screen. the result is I have to sit there and wait while it does its thinking.
Why can the pop out menu be a window in itself, like old S&D?

If Global Shop ran faster, maybe this would not be an issue. I would rather have old looking screens and speed than colorful and aesthetic screens.
